Dr. Cheryl A. Pearson is from Miami , Florida and initially started her dental career in 1970 as a dental assistant. She attended Miami Dale Community College for Dental hygiene and graduated cum laude in 1974. She then attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and received a degree to teach dental hygiene in the university setting. Dr. Pearson graduated from the University Of Kentucky College Of Dentistry with high distinction in 1981 and completed her post-graduate residency at Tufts University in Boston . She has been in private practice in Lexington , Kentucky for the past 20 years.

Dr. Pearson has the distinct honor of being one of the 230 accredited members (in the world) of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. In addition to being a member and co-founder of the Kentucky Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, she is presently the chairman of the scientific session for the Blue Grass Dental Society.

Dr. Laura L. Justice is from Pikeville , Kentucky , and received her BA degree in Biology from Transylvania University in Lexington , Kentucky . She graduated from the University Of Kentucky College Of Dentistry with honors in 1989, and has received post-graduate certificates in advanced cosmetic procedures from Louisiana State University and the Center for Cosmetic Excellence in Chicago .

Dr. Justice is also an accredited member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. Along with being an accredited member of the AACD she belongs to and co-founded the Kentucky Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. Dr. Justice presides on the Kentucky Board of Dentistry as well as the American Academy of Women Dentist.

Pearson and Justice, DMD, Inc. proudly welcomed Dr. Erica Higginbotham as an associate dentist to the practice in June 2003. Dr. Higginbotham is from Columbia , Kentucky . She received her BA degree in Biology with honors from Georgetown College in Georgetown , Kentucky . Dr. Higginbotham graduated from the University Of Kentucky College Of Dentistry and was recommended by her professor as a top graduate.

Dr. Higginbotham has several accomplishments such as an award for Excellence in Oral Diagnosis, Quintessence award in Clinical Periodontology and served as a member of the Executive Board of the Kentucky Dental Association. She is member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry as well as the Kentucky Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. Dr. Higginbotham currently serves as the secretary for the KACD.

Dr. Pearson, Dr. Justice and Dr. Higginbotham are all members of the American Dental Association, Kentucky Dental Association, Blue Grass Dental Society, Better Business Bureau, and are the official Dentists for the Miss Kentucky pageant. They have the experience, education and excellence in a vast variety of dental procedures, general and cosmetic. They have committed themselves to dentistry, continuing education and most importantly to their patients.

We would like to introduce Dr. Wesley Coffman to our practice. He is a native of Earlington, Kentucky. He comes from a varied background which runs the gamut from playing varsity basketball for the University of Tennessee to piloting helicopters in Vietnam. After his discharge from the Army, he continued his education and completed the necessary requirements for enrolling in and completing dental school at the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry.

Dr. Coffman’s professional dental career is no less exciting and varied than his earlier years and includes practicing in Richmond, Kentucky, as a part of a dental group and then moving into a solo practice in 1993 here in Lexington. While in Lexington, he continues to strive for excellence by accomplishing the intense study and testing required to become an accredited member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. His overall practice philosophy is health centered. Dr. Coffman is an avid runner who believes that dental health is just one important aspect of overall wellness.

            Dr. Coffman is married to Jennifer, and they have two grown children. The family enjoys vacationing, skiing, and golfing.

            Drs. Pearson and Justice along with the addition of Dr. Coffman will provide the absolute best comprehensive, cosmetic, and health centered dentistry to the entire state. Nowhere else are there three accredited dentists practicing in the same facility in Kentucky.
