Sedation Dentistry
Patient comfort is essential at Pearson Justice Dental. Many patients are very fearful of dental visits not to mention undergoing dental procedures. Sedation dentistry is an excellent option for fearful patients. Sedation is accomplished through an oral medication method or an intravenous (IV) route method, placing the recipient in a conscious but relaxed state.
Oral sedation and IV sedation are both a conscious form of sedation. The IV method is very well controlled due to direct access to venous pathways and has a quicker onset. Both types of sedation make the patient feel sleepy and often patients do not remember the appointment. Blood pressure, pulse, and pulse oximetry are continuously monitored on all sedated patients. Sedated patients must have a driver bring them to the appointment and take them home.
