Dr. Pearson has been my dentist for more than 20 years. About ten years ago, she placed veneers on my upper teeth and the results were (and are) spectacular. We then spoke about finishing the job: my lower teeth were misshapen and worn down, and just did not match the new bright upper teeth. Given issues related to my bite, we had to wait for the technology to catch up to my dream—and it did. Recently, Dr. Pearson presented me with a treatment plan to fix these lower teeth. After discussing what would be involved, I decided to proceed. The process was painless, and the results amazing—she gave me the teeth I always wished I had.

I am a teeth grinder. I am very good at it. But not only am I a professional at grinding molars, I have become an expert at grinding away at my front teeth. As front teeth present a small, rather pointed surface – they are susceptible to the wearing away of that surface.
Over a period of years, I was able to obliterate one third of my tooth length on both the top and the bottom. AND as I was now grinding into the dentin, the front and back enamel was chipping away at a very dependable rate! Am I good or what?

I have always been self conscious of my smile because of yellow and uneven teeth. The only thing holding me back from having porcelain veneers was that I know people who had them…and their teeth were big and thick; I thought I would be trading in one problem for another. I have been a patient of Dr. Pearson's since she began her practice in 1983. She has seen me through fillings, crowns, root canals, extractions and even an implant. I have had teeth whitened, bleached, scraped, cleaned, x-rayed and polished. I am now a middle aged not particularly attractive woman whose one redeeming feature was her beautiful smile. Several years ago I fell on some rock steps and chipped, cracked, broke and knocked out my 4 front teeth. I was devastated. Dr. Pearson took care of me immediately even though it was a Saturday night. She and her staff were awesome in their care and concern for my health and appearance. Throughout the next year they worked to save the teeth (which they did) and restore my smile. I was very apprehensive - I was afraid my appearance would be completely altered and I would not look like myself. I now have the final veneers and feel like I have my beautiful smile back. A couple of years ago I had three problems to deal with; I had made the decision to devote my entire academic medical practice to cosmetic surgery; I had a life-long self consciousness about my crooked smile; and I hated going to the dentist.
